Iranian short film ‘Retouch’ receives an award at the 4th Short Movie Club in Belarus.

Iranian short film ‘Retouch’ has received the Best Fiction Film award at the 4th edition of the Short Movie Club (SMCFF) in Belarus.

Directed by Kaveh Mazaheri, the Iranian short film won the award while the other awards of the event went to titles from Belgium, China, Spain, the UK, and Belarus.

Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is about a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes and she just observes the tragic scene.

The film has so far participated in many international film festivals, winning many awards and nominations.

It has previously won Best Short Film Awards at the Krakow International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival, all in the US.

The Short Movie Club festival selects fiction, animation, documentary, experimental and virtual reality sections. A jury awards the best film of every section. Screenings are held at National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Cinema theatre “Silver Screen”, art-galleries and art-spaces.

The 4th edition of the SMCFF has been held on February 23-25, 2018.
